“Watching the way students from our Dance College Studios performed during the New Year show indicated not only how well they enjoy this type of activity but also the effort they’ve put in it,” said the principal of Dance College Studios, Kim Schembri, after the encouraging ovation at the end of the show at the auditorium of St Monica School in Birkirkara.
Schembri said she could not help but notice how students had improved their posture and had lost weight by combining dancing with a healthy diet.
“While most people are aware that obesity is a condition that could be a gateway to several illnesses, recent statistics show how our sedentary life, among other factors, is leading people to gain unwanted fat. This ought to be a wake-up call for us to exercise more. Dancing is one of those exercises that can also be fun,” she said.
From a young age children spend hours bent over their tablets and mobile phones at a time when they should learn how to socialise and get out and about.
New dance courses at Dance College Studios in Msida will be starting this month for all ages – from three upwards, Schembri said.
