On March 5, I had an appointment for an application for residence in Malta. After reading and hearing the negative comments that have been circulating, I had been expecting to spend a whole day at the Department for Citizenship and Expatriate Affairs.

Here is my pleasant experience. My appointment was at 9.45am and I was attended to by desk person at 9.50. All the paper work was done and the photo taken by 10.15am.

May I say many thanks to the staff and, especially, to Dorianne Borg for all her advice and help. I have found that when making an appointment and then follow the simple instructions – download forms, read them and fill them in prior to your visit – it will take a great deal of pressure off your interviewer.

Once again, many thanks to all at the Department for Citizenship and Expatriate Affairs.
