The Carmelite Priory in Mdina, in collaboration with the Faculty of Theology and the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, is organising a public lecture on Pavel Florenskij, considered one of Russia’s most erudite and prolific thinkers.

Florenskij (1882-1937) was a physicist, philosopher and theologian, priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, husband, father of five children, art and literary critic and also a mystic. He was known among his peers as the Russian Leonardo da Vinci. This year marks the 80th anniversary of his death.

The lecture, titled Pavel Florenskij: A Heritage for the Twenty-First Century, will be delivered tomorrow at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture (36, Merchants Street, Valletta) at 7pm.
