The Din l-Art Ħelwa monthly lecture series returns with a talk about the art collection at the Magistral Palace in Rome, which was assembled over the course of two centuries, by Therese Vella.
Dr Vella will speak about how the Grand Masters of Malta led the way in collecting paintings and sculptures, as well as in displaying them in a manner that later led to the growth of art collecting among knights and among the Maltese.
Dr Vella will also present new findings made in the course of her doctoral research on the history of art collecting.
She is an art historian and museological consultant to the Palace Regeneration Project and is also a visiting lecturer at the International Institute of Baroque Studies of the University of Malta.
The lecture will be held on Thursday at 6.30pm at Din l-Art Ħelwa, Valletta.
