Maltese-born former Lord Chief Justice of England Igor Judge yesterday delivered the Mabel Strickland Memorial lecture about human rights before a packed hall at the Hotel Phoenicia in Valletta.

The Strickland Foundation later presented a €5,000 prize, a certificate and a trophy to the winner of its writing competition, Shirley Jobson, and €1,500 and a certificate to runner-up Evelyn Borg Costanzi. Certificates were also presented to eight runners-up and the first two interns who completed their internship under the foundation’s scheme.
