The Mdina Cathedral Museum, in conjunction with the Malta Historical Society, will be hosting a public lecture on the Magistral Possession of Mdina, tomorrow at 6pm.

The lecture, which is being delivered by Dr Danielle Mallia LLD, an academic exponent of the early Knights’ period, will focus on the famous descriptive painting by Antoine de Favray depicting the Solemn Entry of L’Isle Adam, first Grand Master in Malta, into this ancient city.

In fact it is a study of a significant ritual which goes much deeper than the colourful ceremony. It was a subtle exercise in political manipulation.

The public is invited to attend.
