Speaking at Birkirkara, Lawrence Gonzi said he was worried because a spokesman of the Labour Party said that Joseph Muscat had reiterated the PL’s respect for the sovereign rights of other countries.

Dr Gonzi wrongly interpreted this as some kind of agreement with North Korea’s launching of its missile.

Should we then assume that Dr Gonzi does not respect the sovereign rights of other independent countries?

Isn’t it glaringly obvious that respecting the sovereign rights of other countries does not imply agreement to sovereign states threatening other sovereign states in any way or form?

Or does Dr Gonzi still have to learn the ABC of diplomacy?
