Chelsea’s scoring midfielder Frank Lampard was on the mark three times in the last two matches for England in World Cup qualifiers. His goals came against Moldova (twice) away and one in the match against Ukraine at Wembley.

In the all-time England scorers’ list, Lampard has now moved to 14th place overall, going past 1966 legend Geoff Hurst.

Lampard’s total is now 26 goals − two more than Hurst who scored a hat-trick in the World Cup final against West Germany at Wembley in 1966.

Lampard is equal in total with Bryan Robson and one goal behind David Platt’s tally.

Wayne Rooney, one of the present England scorers still active, is on 29 goals.
