A new NGO set up to brighten the day of seriously-ill children has just been launched.

Chairman Steve Apap Bologna said The Ladybird Foundation aimed at giving critically-ill children and their families the opportunity to go on vacation and spend quality time together away from the harsh reality of their everyday routine.

The foundation has set itself the target of raising €40,000 by November. Through the generous support of sponsors and donors, nearly €30,000 have already been collected.

The first children to benefit from this money are two young brothers, both suffering from cerebral palsy, who will get to fulfil their wish of visiting Eurodisney together with their families.

To raise money for the foundation, four of its members will attempt to run 51 kilometres from Ċirkewwa to Marsaxlokk on November 11.
