On October 13 at 9.30am several elderly people, most of them assisted by helpers and others on wheelchairs, were left stranded on the ferry’s gangway and on the quay at Vittoriosa for around 15 to 20 minutes.

They were not allowed to board the ferry to Valletta as the guy who sells the tickets on board was not in attendance and they were not allowed to board the vessel without a ticket.

Common sense should have prevailed: the master of the boat should have showed some sort of respect to our senior citizens and allowed them to come on board and sit down till the ticket guy turned up. Transport Malta should take note and make sure that similar incidents do not happen again.

Also, TM should take note and change the sign on the ferry that reads: Valletta to Three Cities Ferry. There is still no service to Senglea, so the sign should read: Valletta to Two Cities Ferry.
