Church schools have 25 vacancies for boys and 36 for girls at kindergarten level for the academic year that starts in September.

The Curia yesterday gave a detailed breakdown of the available places at kindergarten schools after places reserved for siblings and children of Church school employees were taken up.

From 77 available slots for boys in the first year, 52 were taken up by the reserved categories. From the 91 slots for girls, 55 were reserved for siblings, children of employees and residents of Church-run orphanages.

The Curia said there could be fewer vacancies available because the Church accepted a number of “grave humanitarian” cases. Entry will be by ballot.
