Petar Kyumyurdzhiev, Kerċem Ajax’s central defender, is the BOV GFA Player of the Month for November.

The Bulgarian was presented with his award trophy by Horace Laudi, Regional Manager for Gozo at Bank of Valletta, before a training session in Kerċem in the presence of his team-mates and coaching staff as well as Gozo FA official Paul Galea.

This is 34-year-old Kyumyurdzhiev’s second individual award since he joined Kerċem in 2011.

In November, Kyumyurdzhiev played two fine matches for his team in the victory over SK Victoria Wanderers and the loss to current league leaders Għajnsielem.

Kyumyurdzhiev, who played in the highest level of Bulgarian football earlier in his career, distinguishes himself not only with his technical abilities but also in the way he leads on the field besides proving to be an inspiration for the less-experienced players in the team.

Kerċem won three matches and drew another in the opening round of the GFA Division One this season to stay in contention in the championship, currently led by Għajnsielem on 14 points.

Meanwhile, BOV said in a statement that Kyumyurdzhiev had chosen Puttinu Cares to benefit from the donation associated with the player of the month award.
