The police last night categorically denied allegations about Karin Grech’s murder made by her father Edwin in The Sunday Times.

Prof. Grech wrote last Sunday that the criminal investigation into his daughter’s murder was amateurish and disjointed, and that persons that could have been important to the probe were not investigated. The police also failed to check the veracity of information he had provided, he claimed in his article.

The police said the same allegations had already been denied last December. All information they had was thoroughly investigated and brought to the attention of the inquiring magistrate.

The case, they added, was still being rigorously investigated but details could not be given since it was still subject to a magisterial inquiry.
