Malta received 174,715 tourists in July, an all-time record for the month, the National Statistics Office said.

It follows records reached in April, May and June.

Tourist spending last month was estimated to top €190 million, a growth of 10 per cent over July 2011, the NSO said.

There are now 81 routes linking Malta to other destinations, up from just 45 in 2006, the ministry said.
