A health and safety company has filed a judicial protest claiming it was not allowed to do the job assigned to it after winning a contract by tender.

AME Health and Safety Services Limited said it had won the contract to handle health and safety during the restoration of the Citadel Landfront Fortifications in Gozo. About 85 per cent of the €1,400,000 project was being funded by the EU, it said.

Despite the fact that it had won fair and square, the company had not been allowed to carry out the job by A.F Ellis (Home Decor), MC Restauri di Milano and the Director of the Restoration Unit within the Rural Affairs Ministry, it claimed.

Lawyer Michael Tanti Dougall signed the protest.
