A special recital is today bringing together a selection of works by Liszt, Debussy and Ravel that were inspired by the composers’ travels to different places around the world.

Gisèle Grima, one of Malta’s foremost pianists, will play a special grand piano dating to the time of these three composers (1890) and of the brand Debussy favoured most – Blüthner – which will recreate the authentic sound for which the classical music masterpieces in theevening’s programme were composed and from which the composers drew further inspiration.

The concert will be held at the Cathedral Museum in Mdina where an exhibition by painter and sculptor Chris Ebejer will be on display. Three halls of the museum will also be open and patrons are welcome to walk around and enjoy the artworks, including paintings by Mattia Preti.

■ The recital is being held at the Mdina Cathedral Museum today at 7.30pm. Tickets may be purchased from ticketline.com.mt or at the door (subject to availability). For more information, call 7905 4688 or send an e-mail to info@nikolaivukovic.com.
