Labour MEP candidate Miriam Dalli has been engaged as a consultant at the Ministry of Energy and Water Conservation, the ministry has confirmed.

Ms Dalli, a former One News journalist who hosts a discussion programme on the party’s television station, has a salary of €33,583 and allowances totalling almost €9,000. They include expenses for a car, an expertise allowance and internet.

She will be working mostly on communications and corporate social responsibility.

“Ms Dalli renders her services in the areas of communications, CSR and stakeholder management, which are her areas of expertise based on her past experience in the topics within the private sector. Her appointment is in line with the policy utilised in engaging advisers within a ministry,” the Energy Ministry said.
