A new Augusta Westland helicopter flies above Grand Harbour on its way to the Armed Forces of Malta base at Luqa yesterday, the second to be delivered to the AFM intended to strengthen its capabilities in border control and search and rescue. The AW139 has a range of nearly 1,000 kilometres and can fly at over 300kph. It was procured through the EU’s External Borders Fund.
