The government is in the process of allocating to the private sector the upper floor of the new fish market in Marsa, following a call for expressions of interest.

The government said this activity is expected to create new jobs.

It is also considering a call for the design, construction and operation of a marine hatchery for the spawning of blue-fin tuna and facilities for aquaculture research.

In 2015, a National Agriculture Policy will be launched to spell out the government’s vision for the sector.

Also, more studies will be carried out on how to cultivate high quality products with sustainable use of water while reducing the impact of fertilisers.
