More than 130 disabled people are working on a full-time basis or have improved their job skills as a result of training programmes offered by government agencies, figures published earlier this week show.

More than 900 disabled people are registered as full-timers and another 200 are working part-time.

The figures were given by Family Minister Chris Said when visiting the Centre for Independent Living in Ħal Far, which offers advice and training to disabled people and their families.

Training programmes and government schemes to support employers who take on board disabled people are co-financed by the EU.
