The first two reunions rallying former members of the Tigné music community have served not only to rekindle old friendships but have also led a number of musicians to rediscover their musical spark. As a result, several bands from that bygone era are getting back together.

In fact, old-school rockers Acid recently gave their first live performance since reforming the band. Members from New Wave acts Chi-2 and Davy Jones are also reported to be holding some rehearsals as they ready themselves to get back into action.

Meanwhile, the Rise Tigné group, which has helped revive the spirit of the Sliema music commune, will host another event entitled The Jam by Tigné Musicians on May 5 at 3pm at De Niro’s Rock Bar in St Paul’s Bay.

All musicians – past and present – are welcome, and bands interested in stepping in with a couple of songs to promote themselves are also welcome.

Rise Tigné resident DJ Hades will spin rock tunes in between the live performances. For more information, look up the Rise Tigné Facebook page. Entrance is free.
