The Grand Harbour will be shaken, not stirred, over the next five days following the arrival of the French Navy frigate La Fayette.
The ship, which appeared in the James Bond movie GoldenEye, is named after Marquis La Fayette, who in 1780 fought alongside George Washington in the American revolutionary war.
The frigate is primarily involved in fighting drug trafficking and piracy. It boasts a stealth system that has served as a model for most modern fighting ships built since its construction. The frigate is now involved in the Libyan conflict under UN Security Council resolution 1973. It is commanded by Commander Emmanuel Sagorin.
