We all know that local TV stations cannot compete with foreign ones. However, it is only fair to say that the national station, TVM, has given us several interesting, informative and educational programmes: Malta u lil Hinn Minnha, Madwarna, X’Joffri l-Kunvent, Storjografia, Kappelli... and others.

But in spite of our enormous limitations, local TV stations still need to show some respect for their audience. Up to a few days ago, Favourite channel was screening weekly episodes from two locally produced dramas: Għeruq and Il-Madonna taċ-Ċoqqa. All of a sudden, and without any form of explanation, everything was stopped half way through and an episode from Dun Benit was screened instead.

I contacted the station by means of an e-mail but have still to receive an explanation.
