InterContinental Malta is currently enhancing its social media presence with a greater emphasis on interactivity for users. The first of a number of initiatives is an overhaul of the property’s Facebook timeline which now features a restaurant booking tool enabling patrons to make restaurant reservations online.

A 15 per cent discount is being offered on the total restaurant bill when confirming a table reservation at any of InterContinental Malta’s five restaurants through this channel.

Proud of Malta? An integral part of the revamp is an opportunity for users to engage with the hotel. InterContinental Malta is allowing Facebook users to submit a comment, photo or video on the hotel’s Facebook page and in so doing, participate in a competition. The most original, unique and different submission on what makes users proud of Malta will win two tickets to a Coldplay concert in London on June 4 as well as two flight tickets and an overnight stay at one of InterContinental Hotel Group’s London hotels.

“We are very excited to be launching this initiative which ties in with InterContinental Hotel Group’s ethos of being ‘in the know’ about our destination. We would like our followers to share what makes them proud of Malta, to learn what they think,” said InterContinental Malta’s director of sales and marketing, Christopher Gingell Littlejohn.
