An insurance agency and broker are accusing each other of impropriety in court actions.

In a judicial protest filed earlier this week, Citadel Insurance said it had revoked all authority given to Allcare Insurance Agency Ltd and Allcare Insurance Brokers Ltd to act as brokers on its behalf, particularly in dealing with claims handling and settling.

Citadel said this was necessary since Allcare had not adhered to obligations stipulated in its agreement with the agency and was withholding information about Citadel clients it represents.

Citadel accused Allcare of lack of cooperation; not holding separate accounts distinguishing between Citadel clients and others; not informing it about premiums and not representing it in the best way.

The agency’s judicial protest was in response to one filed by Allcare a few days before, in which the broker accused Citadel of bypassing it by contacting its clients directly and sending them letters and offers.

Explaining the judicial protest, Citadel said it asked its agent to disclose all information and documents required about its clients without delay and to pay for any damages it caused through its actions.
