The Institute of Directors Malta Branch has intensified its efforts at internationalisation with chairman James Satariano attending the institute’s annual dinner in London as the personal guest of new IoD director general Simon Walker. Mr Walker was previously communications secretary to Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace. He also served as director of corporate affairs at British Airways and as a special adviser in the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit at 10 Downing Street during the John Major government.

IoD Malta recently strengthened its ties with a number of strategic locations important to Maltese business, including hosting Richard Le Tocq from IoD Guernsey. The branch has held more than 50 events in the last few years, ranging from social events to informative discussion forums, topical business breakfasts and corporate hospitality occasions as well as partnering with the Malta Financial Services Authority, Central Bank, Malta Stock Exchange and various others to deliver corporate governance awareness.
