Inspire Foundation is preparing for a second return to Camino de Santiago with a fundraising charity challenge. The group is scheduled to leave Malta on March 26.

“While the pilgrimage is primarily known for purely religious reasons, in recent years it has also become a medium for people to get in touch with nature. In this context, we felt that link-ing this experience to a fundraising event and offering people with a disability the opportunity to participate would bring this experience to a full circle,” said Maria Vella-Galea, fundraising and marketing manager at Inspire.

Participants are encouraged to join group training on Sunday mornings. Group training is strongly encouraged, as it not only builds and strengthens physical fitness but also helps group dynamics and bonding, which is vital for the success of the event.

While a high degree of fitness is not a must, participants will be required to walk approximately 21 kilometres a day, carrying a backpack.

An experienced tour leader will lead the group, advising members on how to be prepared as soon as they sign up for the challenge.
