Erika Spiteri Lucas has developed a passionate interest for cake making, especially decoration. For the past three years she has been experimenting with sugarpaste, trying to come up with innovative shapes and colours.

A typical example is a cake which she specifically decorated for a cake and figolli competition, organised by Inspire.

Spiteri Lucas spent nearly four days and four nights moulding the two-and-a-half-foot cake, which she titled Be Inspired this Easter.

“It’s not enough to use good sugarpaste; you have to know how to use it,” she said.
