The voluntary group Gift of Life is holding its annual Walk for Life event from Valletta to St Julian’s on October 30.

Walk for Life is an important fundraising event for Malta’s pro-life movement, which attempts to support women through Hope, its crisis pregnancy support service.

The sponsored walk also aims to raise public awareness on current pro-life issues.

The event is usually held in February, but this year it is being held in October to encourage school and student particiapation.

Walkers are being encouraged to bring whistles or musical instruments to make the event a fun celebration of life.

Those interested can register for the walk by contacting Mary Camilleri on 9922 4043 or aamh@go.net.mt; or Lorna Borg on 9945 8770 or orborg.lorna@gmail.com.

Gift of Life’s School for Life annual project has also been launched. Primary and secondary schools will present an art project on February 4 – International Pro-life day.

To register, call Charlene Mifsud, head of Pro-Life Awareness in School (PAIS), on 7906 7010 or e-mail pais@lifemalta.org. Closing date for registration is October 30.
