The lecture on Malta’s Industrial Heritage by Professor Robert Ghirlando is the first in the 2014 series of cultural presentations organised by Din l-Art Ħelwa on Thursday at 6.30 pm.

It will focus on an important field of Malta’s cultural legacy that tends to be overlooked in the wealth and variety of the country’s rich artistic and historical heritage.

Prof. Ghirlando will take the audience through a visual journey made up mainly of photographs of sites and machinery that can still be found on the island in the hope of raising awareness about the need to conserve Malta’s industrial heritage and problems related to its conservation.

The presentation will take place at Judge Caruana Curran Hall at Din l-Art Ħelwa offices, at 133 Melita Street, Valletta, and will be delivered in English. Admission is free of charge but donations to Din l-Art Ħelwa’s restoration fund will be much appreciated.
