Air Malta has announced it is increasing its flight frequency to Tripoli in Libya due to increased demand.

From Tuesday, the national carrier will be operating four weekly flights to/from the Libyan capital every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Air Malta chief commercial officer Philip Saunders said: “This decision was taken following the increase in demand registered since we resumed scheduled air services to Libya on November 28. The service has become very popular and passenger figures are growing steadily. With the additional frequency we are planning to carry approximately 1,000 passengers every month to/from Tripoli.”

Mr Saunders added that the increased frequency to Tripoli is an another important step in Air Malta’s efforts to continue facilitating travel between both countries for the benefit of its customers travelling for business, leisure, or to visit friend and relatives.
