The number of full-time employees increased by 1.3 per cent in May, compared to the same period last year.
Employment and Training Corporation data show that the labour supply increased by 1.5 per cent, mainly because of a rise of 1,938 in the gainfully occupied and an increase in the number of registered unemployed.
Almost 73 per cent of full-time employment was in the private sector which grew by 2.1 per cent. In the public sector it fell by 0.9 per cent.
