The incompetence of the postal service in Brussels, the European Commission’s home town is simply beyond belief.

A letter addressed to ‘Jose Manuel Barroso, President, EU Commission, Brussels, Belgium’ and posted in early December is undelivered and returned to me a few days ago with a label in French and Flemish claiming that the “address is insufficient”.

I have had post delivered from UK even with senders mistakenly omitting “Malta” from my address or when they have incorrectly stated “Malta, Marshall Islands”. But the Brussels post office, supposedly at the heart of Europe, doesn’t seem to know where the EU Commission is located.
