Thirty models, 20 make-up artists and 15 hairdressers descended on Progress Press, Mrieħel, yesterday for a spectacular fashion show to mark Pink magazine’s 10th anniversary.
Pink lighting flooded the building, providing an industrial contrast to the models’ tailored outfits, which were warmed by soft, welcoming, winter fabrics.
Geometric make-up and a braided Mohican hairdo by Screen Team Malta complemented the gentle/aggressive look.
Models walked down a catwalk featuring past Pink magazine covers in creations by Aldo Shoes & Accessories, Armani Jeans, Esprit, F&F, Karen Millen, Liu Jo, M&CO, Marks & Spencer, Miss Selfridge and Tommy Hilfiger.
The backdrop was made in-house from recycled pallets with the magazine’s logo spray-painted on.
The event also provided the ideal setting for the launch of Places: Design & Living magazine, spearheaded by Times of Malta, which will publish its first issue at the end of the month.
After the show, the printing machinery was started up and the visitors’ gallery opened for guests to see today’s newspaper going to press.
The Pink Fashion Show was organised by Times of Malta, in collaboration with Catermax, and supported by Alistair, Chemimart, Dical House, Diet Kinnie, Lady Million Eau my Gold, Natuzzi, Powwow Station and Renault.
