The Pjazza Live Sessions at Café Premier in Valletta came to a close with a performance by George ‘Il-Pusé’ Curmi and his band.
Il-Pampalun was part of the bands that used to perform at the Premier in the 1950s and 1960s
Held on September 7, the Premier gig was attended by over 200 guests many of whom danced the night away to the lively music.
Violinist Il-Pusé and his band played a mixture of classical and modern music, including songs likeChester from Valletta, Caruso, Fiddler on The Roof, Polka, Maltese Medley and Luno Mezzo Mare.
Il-Pusé was accompanied by his wife Hilda Curmi. His uncle, Paul ‘Pampalun’ Curmi also accompanies Il-Pusé on percussion.
Il-Pampalun was part of the bands that used to perform at Premier in the 1950s and 1960s, when Valletta was the place to go to enjoy great music and quality food. The aim behind the Pjazza Live sessions is to bring Valletta back to life like the old days. Besides Wednesday evenings, Premier also hosts musicians on Friday evenings.
Past guests have included rock band Red Electrick who teamed up with Il-Pusé for an acoustic session.
Premier is currently working on a new line-up of performers for the coming months, including a special gig for Notte Bianca on October 1 .
