Smart Technologies recently hosted 30 businesses to a half-day seminar at Smart City, an event that showcased a number of IT products for heavy manufacturing industry and promoted their use and benefits to the sector. The event also doubled up as excellent networking experience.
The companies were briefed about a number of products by two companies represented in Malta by Smart Technologies, whose products have already established a successful foothold in local industries, namely NOAX and Datalogic.
German company NOAX, based in Munich, is a specialised producer of computer monitors for the heavy industry and manufacturing sectors.
Noax international sales manager Alexandra Reger was present to talk about the company’s products, their resilience in the most demanding industrial environments and possible applications by Maltese companies.
Smart Technologies, in fact, introduced NOAX in Malta last year with a first project successfully delivered at Trelleborg.
“Smart Technologies provided us with an excellent service right up to the delivery and installation of the equipment and we now also benefit from post-installation support service,” said Ivan Gerada, procurement and IT manager at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Malta.
“Opting for NOAX products was also a good investment decision for the company.
“The currently installed Noax workstation controls which monitor our raw material movements and rubber material mixing process, with its extremely durable and easy-to-use touchscreen, have brought us renewed efficiency levels by reducing overall support and downtime.”
Smart Technologies business development manager Christopher Demicoli said: “As the industry becomes more sophisticated and specialised, the need for specific products from specialist companies increases.
“Yet, not all companies are in a position to travel and shop around for the equipment they need. Therefore, we use these events to showcase products that are already being successfully applied by local operators and invite companies to see and experience it and share their views and opinions about the new technologies on show.”
