As part of its drive to raise awareness on IT governance and the management of enterprise IT, the local Chapter of ISACA is holding a morning conference on COBIT 5, the new business framework on February 27.

Speakers include IT in Balance managing director Dirk Steuperaert and Betfair’s head of information and technology risk Steven Babb, both of whom have extensive experience in using COBIT 5 to address business issues.

The speakers’ interventions will take a practical perspective and should appeal to all practitioners.

COBIT 5 helps enterprises create optimal value from IT by maintaining the balance between realising benefits, optimising risk levels and resource use.

It is the only business framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT. The framework addresses both business and IT functional areas across an enterprise and considers the IT-related interests of internal and external stakeholders.

Enterprises of all sizes, commercial, not-for-profit or in the public sector, can benefit from the framework. COBIT 5 is an evolutionary version of the framework that incorporates the latest thinking in enterprise governance and management techniques.

It builds on COBIT 4.1 by integrating other major frameworks, standards and resources.

The conference will provide an overview of the framework, the enabling processes guide, and other guides and tools provided by ISACA.

Held at the San Ġorġ Corinthia, it is open to ISACA members and non-members.
