The government will pay half the salary of temporarily employed students with ICT competences.

The Malta Information Technology Agency and the Communications Ministry have launched the Student Placement Programme for employers seeking temporary ICT staff.

The programme pools together a number of students wishing to find a summer placement and the work experience will cover 11 weeks of meaningful ICT and ICT-related assignments on a 30-hour-week basis, between July and September.

The remuneration rate is €5.31 an hour.

Employers can e-mail spp.mita@gov.mt before June 25 indicating qualification preferences, the skill levels they require and how many internship placements they are willing to take on.

Students can apply by Monday on www.mita.gov.mt/spp.
