Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar has questioned the logic of deciding hotel height and floor area policies before local structure plans are concluded.

The statement comes as five public consultations on planning policies come to a close today.

The group urged the public to submit comments and suggestions on the policy reviews undertaken by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority.

The five areas are: a review of the local plans that determine every aspect of planning and building; a policy for fireworks complexes; a policy for the development of fuel service stations; a review of the height limitation policy for hotels in tourism areas; and a review of the floor area ratio policy that determines the balance between built up areas and open spaces on a site.
