A rider was injured yesterday at about 7 a.m. when his horse-drawn sulky was involved in collision with a car on the Rabat Road.

The horse bolted following the impact and galloped towards Qormi, injuring itself in an impact with another car, before being restrained and taken to the police stables.

The rider, a 56-year-old man from Qormi, was hospitalised but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The driver of the Hyundai Accent was a 32-year-old man from Rabat, who was in shock but not injured.
