This is an appeal to be kind. We pensioners cannot spend a long time waiting at bus stops in the scorching sun then having to walk quite a distance to get home. So I appeal to those who have a vehicle to please offer lifts to hospitals and polyclinics. Give a drink of water to those who are parched, waiting for a bus.

I recently took the bus from Tarxien. The driver was patient and kind but it took an hour to get to Valletta with no air-conditioning. The return trip to Tarxien took 35 minutes but people from Sta Luċija had to walk home from Paola and others had to walk from Tarxien to Bulebel, while others from Bir id-Deheb to Gudja and Għaxaq.

All this walking in the heat at 2 p.m. is too much. That is why I am appealing for help until, hopefully, the situation improves.
