Michael Pace, 81, is this year’s winner of the Elderly of the Year Award.
Mr Pace distinguished himself through his voluntary work with disabled people in the sports sector.
Not only does he train them but also ensures that the environment where they practise sustains an adequate level of safety. Every year, Mr Pace organises events that bring together disabled people through physical activities. He also trains disabled athletes for national sports events.
This edition, the 20th, saw 12 nominations for elderly people who are active in the voluntary sector.
