Record numbers of Maltese passengers have booked summer flights with Ryanair before this year is even over.
This year, the budget airline opened bookings for summer 2015 three months earlier than in 2013.
It was the first airline serving the island to launch its schedule and has 28 routes on offer.
Ryanair is booked to carry more than 3.5 million customers during the peak travel period between December 20 and January 6, with flights operating up to 6.40pm on Christmas Eve and resuming at 9.40am on St Stephen’s Day.
“The combination of the biggest route choice, lowest fares and our summer schedule going on sale earlier than ever has seen more Maltese families booked on summer routes at Christmas than ever before,” said Ryanair’s Maria Macken.
