Before the theatre season comes to a close, TAC Theatre is bringing one last theatrical tour-de-force: The Accidental Pervert, a hilarious comedy coming straight off its fifth year running off-Broadway.

Written by comic veteran Andrew Goffman, the autobiographical one-man show tells the tale of an 11-year-old boy who finds his father’s collection of X-rated videos hidden in the closet and subsequently develops an unhealthy addiction to porn. Andrew struggles to find the balance between fantasy and reality when he finally meets his wife to be.

“They say don’t judge a book by its cover, but with a play, the title is what really catches your attention. Unfortunately, a lot of the time, a good ‘title’ is all you find,” says Wesley Ellul, co-founder of TAC Theatre. “But sometimes, beneath a good title lies a hilarious play, which you know you have to produce.”

Marc Cabourdin will be holding the directorial reins to work with funny man Malcolm Galea. Together they take on the challenge of telling this wild and wacky tale that, according to Ellul, “will surely leave you laughing for days”.

• Rated 18+, The Accidental Pervert opens on June 6, with additional shows on June 8, 13-15 at St James Cavalier in Valletta. All shows start at 8pm. Tickets are available from www.tactheatre. com or from the St James Cavalier box office.
