Hibernians completed two major transfer deals yesterday after announcing they had signed strikers Luis Edison ‘Tarabai’ and Obinna Obiefule.

Brazilian forward Tarabai, Hibs’ leading scorer last season with 21 goals, returns to the scene after terminating his contract with Hungarian club Kecskemeti and putting pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Obiefule joins Hibernians from Mosta. He has agreed personal terms and tied himself to last season’s FA Trophy winners for the next 18 months.

Tarabai and Obiefule are unlikely to make their debuts for the Paolites before the start of the Championship Pool as both are currently sidelined with injury.

Tarabai is undergoing reha-bilitation following surgery in his knee while Obiefule is nursing a shoulder injury.

In a busy day for Hibs, it was also revealed last night that midfielder Jackson Lima had agreed to a new contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2015.

Elsewhere, Ħamrun Spartans are also expected to bring in another overseas player – Italian Giancarlo Ventura – before tomorrow’s transfer deadline as they seek to bolster their squad ahead of their commitments in the Relegation Pool.
