A 31-year-old woman from Swieqi confessed in court yesterday that she was involved in trafficking heroin into prison.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi ordered a pre-sentencing report to be carried out before handing down judgment.

He granted her bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000 and upheld her lawyers’ request to ban the publication of her name.

No reason for the ban was given in court.

Police Inspector Malcolm Bondin prosecuted.

Lawyer Kathleen Grima represented the woman.
