Last year was regarded as Roger Sanchez’s year by most dance scene critics, and judging by his performance up until now, this year is going to have the S-Man’s imprint indelibly stamped all over it too.

So far this year he’s already clocked up collaborations with various artists, among them the multi-cultural Far East Movement, and boosted his influential Release Yourself clubbing concept, a staple of the Ibiza club scene, with another key monthly residency in Las Vegas.

On top of that, Sanchez has been performing in countless cities all over the world, burning up dancefloors with his high-energy sets wherever he sets foot, his hectic schedule mirroring the Flashing Lights theme adopted by Sanchez.

Born in Queens, New York, to Dominican parents, Sanchez’s early musical influences came from the variety of cultures present in his hometown.

Growing up with such a diversity of sounds – from salsa and soul to Blues, rock and hiphop – was elemental in giving Sanchez the eclectic musical outlook he embraces and injects into his own music.

Apart from founding four record labels, the most significant being Stealth, which he launched in 2002, Sanchez has, over a career that spans three decades, also notched up scores of international charts and club hits and remixed tunes for a long list of top acts, among them Daft Punk, Chic and The Police. He won a Grammy in 2004 and placed at #60 in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ poll for 2009.

Sanchez will be performing at Buskett Roadhouse on July 16. The event is being staged by Crash Events and Mainstream Events and will also feature a Techno Room hosted by Fraktal, where The Surgeon in association with the British Murder Boys will be the headlining act.
