I refer to the item titled ‘Cyrus, “not a criminal” says Civil Liberties Minister’ (May 13) wherein, in spite of having been sentenced by an appeals court to two years in prison, suspended for two years, for having sent naked photos of his former lover in an attempt to discredit him, Civil Liberties Minister Helena Dalli stated that consultant Cyrus Engerer is not a criminal.

In the circumstances, one can ask the minister whether, at the end of the day, she is only repeating, in a parrot-like manner, what Prime Minister Joseph Muscat ordered her to say.
