A thankful group of 30 volunteers from the USS Carney helped out two community projects in a gesture of appreciation for the hospitality they received while on a short break in Malta. The ship was in Malta between August 14 and 17 when crew members got to see many historical sites and enjoy the night-life in various localities, a spokesman for the US Embassy said. One team of crew members worked in the gardens of the Richmond Foundation’s Kids In Development centre in Żejtun and another cleared refuse left on the beach and in the sea at Selmun Bay.
