A young drug addict, who was told by a magistrate that he had to help himself before anyone could help him, was yesterday jailed for 25 months.
Joseph Barbara, 23, of Tarxien, who stood in the dock sporting two piercings in both of his cheeks, nodded at hearing what Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona had to say to him.
He admitted to trafficking heroin, being in possession of the drug and breaching the conditions of two previous releases.
The magistrate told him he would have to help himself before anyone could help him, before jailing him.
